RIDOT Relocation of Interstate 195
Providence, RI
Pare is part of the design team which RIDOT retained to design the relocation of I-195 through Providence. Pare completed three major tasks.
Task 1: design of a bridge/viaduct structure, concrete retaining walls, and a “mechanically stabilized earth” (MSE) retaining system.
Task 2: demolition plans for the removal of bridge structures and retaining walls.
Task 3: geotechnical engineering design services for a pedestrian bridge structure, retaining walls, and a relocated 52-inch-diameter sewer.
Pare also designed temporary cofferdam structures that allowed use of the existing alignment of I-195.
