Pare was retained by the RI Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) to provide engineering services for the design of a new accessible fishing pier at a State Park located on the site of the former Rocky Point Amusement Park.

The new pier includes a 260-foot-long wooden walkway with benches, which leads out to a 21-by-111-foot main deck with a shade cupola. The structure required 122 new pilings. To ensure accessibility for fishing, the installed railings include low-cut sections. The length of the pier and its extension into Narragansett Bay at the confluence of East Greenwich Bay and the mouth of the Providence River makes it the only true deep-water fishing pier in the Bay.

Pare performed a resiliency review for the site which considered existing topography, FEMA mapping, and RI Coastal Resources Management Council Stormtools mapping. Pare also assisted with state and federal permitting, construction administration, and part-time construction observation.
