Pare evaluated a series of ponds that form the focal point of the Del Carte Conservation Area to assess their conditions. These evaluations were used to determine if the dams and impoundments required repair, replacement, or other means to protect the surrounding resources and downstream area. In addition, a preliminary assessment of the potential for contaminants trapped behind the dams was performed.

From these assessments, Pare evaluated the potential short & long-term habitat and public safety impacts due to access, site limitations, and environmental concerns that could manifest as a result of dam removal or failure to provide practical site alternatives.

This report was submitted to the Town of Franklin Conservation Commission and presented at a public informational meeting.
