Overview

Pare Corporation was selected by the Town of Amesbury to perform a Feasibility Study for a new Department of Public Works facility. Pare and Town staff reviewed over 25 parcels that were under consideration for the proposed facility. Pare prepared a feasibility report which addressed site constraints and conceptual costs for development of each of the shortlisted sites.

For the preferred site, Pare developed schematic design and cost estimates. Tasks included wetlands delineations, land surveying, test borings, and a preliminary environmental due diligence of the site. In addition to building footprint and interior configuration, schematic design included alternatives for site storage of vehicles and materials and traffic circulation.

Final design included a pre-engineered metal building structure and a link connector into the DPW’s existing facility. The new facility includes the following major components:

  • Vehicular Storage Area
  • Maintenance Bays with equipment lifts
  • Designated Wash Area
  • Mechanic’s Office
  • Workshop Area
  • Fluid Storage Area
  • Mezzanine level for additional storage.

Pare provided all site/civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering for the new facilities. Pare also performed a traffic impact analysis and wetlands delineations and permitting.
