Pare was part of the team that provided design, construction documents, and construction-phase services for the new Marshfield High School. Pare provided civil engineering, geotechnical and traffic/transportation services. The site was unique in that the existing High School, Middle School and Elementary School all occupy the same campus.
Pare performed a complete geotechnical program to further characterize the subsurface conditions and provide bearing capacity recommendations to be utilized by the structural designer. The site design effort included layout and grading along with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for infiltration systems; design of the sewer service; and other coordination of utilities. The project involved work within the 100-foot buffer zone of a Bordering Vegetated Wetland subject to the Wetlands Protection Act and Marshfield Wetlands Protection Bylaw, and therefore required an Order of Conditions from the Town of Marshfield Conservation Commission. Pare prepared the plans and submitted a Notice of Intent to the Conservation Commission and the MA Department of Environmental Protection Southeast Regional Office.
Pare was also involved in the design of two new synthetic turf multi-use fields, a new track, and natural turf fields for the school athletics program. Field design incorporated underground drainage systems and a cooling system for the synthetic field.
During construction Pare provided Construction Administration services. The new high school was part of the MA Model Schools Program and received a USGBC LEED Gold certification.
