Hope Street Tank Site Investigation

Bristol, RI
  • Delineated impacts from lead paint
  • Soil capping and re-grading plan
  • Coordinated Remedial Activities
  • Prepared Public Notices
  • Construction administration
Overview

Pare evaluated the impacts of soils in a densely populated area of Bristol when soils surrounding a water supply tank owned by the Bristol County Water Authority (BCWA) were found to contain lead.

Due to concerns about significant dust generation, noise, and water control that would often be generated during an extensive excavation and removal effort, Pare was able to design an effective grading and capping design that would protect the public and surrounding properties from exposure to the contaminated soils while also minimizing dust generation and limit exposure to the soils to wind and rain migration concerns.

Remedial activities were coordinated with RIDEM, including submittals of a Site Investigation Report, a Remedial Action Work Plan, and a Remedial Action Completion Report with Environmental Land Use Restrictions (ELUR). Pare aided the BCWA with bid administration and conducted construction oversight.
