Overview

Pare evaluated and designed approximately 5,000 feet of new 12-inch DI water main to replace an 8-inch asbestos cement pipe as part of a plan to expand the Bristol County Water Authority’s high service area in the future. Since construction of the replacement involved putting the main transmission pipe for the high service pressure zone out-of-service, the project included the design and installation of approximately 7,000 linear feet of temporary bypass piping sized to meet the fire flow demands throughout the service area.

The project was done in advance of a Highway Safety Improvement Project being completed by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. The design and scheduling also had to be coordinated with advance utility work being done by National Grid.

Pare aided the BCWA with bid administration and conducted construction administration and oversight through the duration of the project.
